The Infamous Tunnel Mountain!

Some have looked but have not found, some have tried and failed…join us and be sure to experience the naturally formed tunnel in the middle of the Mountain, Tunnel Mountain! JADEFit is offering a guided hike through Untamed Tours along with a local guide and photographer to make this a memorable trip.

Date: July 29th 

Elevation Gain: 1100+m

Distance: 13-16km (Please note we are not taking the typical route so the distance is shorter then what is explained on the WNMS website)

Time Estimate: 9-10 hours 

Level of Difficulty: Intermediate+ to advanced 

Gear needed: 16-25L day pack, sturdy hiking boots, poles, clothing for changing weather including rain gear, toque and mitts. Hat, sunscreen, bug spray and bear spray. Lunch, snack and water. 

Points of Interest: Spectacular views and interesting rock formations. Natural tunnel built into the mountain, views of the Sukunka River Valley, Mount Crum and Pinnacle Peak. 

Cost: $70/person

Inclusions: Guided hiking tour and one professional photo emailed to your address. Plant interpretation, fossil discovery, safety precautions, First Aid and evacuation plan. Guides will also offer healthy, fuel filled snacks and a camp stove with hot cocoa mix if weather is cool.

Exclusions: transportation to Visitor Information Center and trail head. Many hikers choose to carpool once at the Visitor’s Center.

Plan  B: Equally rewarding trip in an area that is not hazardous or rescheduling of event.

Clients should be aware of: remote location, travel on gravel roads, rough terrain, rocky terrain, steep gradients, long days, suddenly changing mountain weather, lack of medical aid close by. There is also spotty cell service in this area, including the drive from other towns into Tumbler Ridge. You must have proper directions before you leave town. Clients must read and sign a waiver prior to the trip and complete a medical form.

REFUNDS

As we have limited spots on these trips, we do not allow refunds unless you have a doctors note as to a medical issue that makes it impossible to join us. You are welcome to give or sell your spot to another person but that needs to be arranged on your own.

Cancellations: If we have to cancel due to inclement weather, or safety issues we will provide a full refund and/or an opportunity for rescheduling. Inclement weather includes lightning, extreme winds, extremely poor air quality of 9+, or heavy rainfall mixed with cool temps. We do NOT cancel for cool weather, snow, light rain or windy days. Safety issues include an aggressive bear in the area, forest fires, or other extreme phenomenon.
