Your adventure will take you hiking in the Rocky Mountains, paddling on the local lakes, and trying your very first Via Ferratta. If that’s not enough, how about adding Horseback Riding and Heli Hiking? This three day weekend has options for everyone. We have built a package that will allow you to choose your own adventure! 

Accommodations: The Cabins at  Nature’s Getaway

Our adventure starts with the cabins at Nature’s Getaway, tucked into the rural subdivision of Nordegg, just off the highway to the beautiful David Thompson Corridor. Upon arriving you are greeted with a “white picket fence” as you roll into this tranquil space. The cabins are situated on a tiny acreage boasting manicured lawns, and big, beautiful trees. The property begs you to walk around and explore the outbuildings, the picnic tables, the fire pit, the hot tubs and the horseshoe pit.

Inside you will find fully stocked transitional style kitchens complete with everything you need to make a meal. The living room is built around the fireplace and upstairs you will find three large bedrooms. Each cabin will be shared with up to 7 guests and the Loft is a separate, stand alone unit. 

 

Cabin Pricing (3 nights, 2.5 days)

Cabin 1 Cozy Bear Cabin 

• King bed plus twin bed, sleeps up to 3 ($870)

Cabin 3 The Loft 

• Open private space separate from the other cabins with a kitchenette, shower, Queen bed and double pull out sofa, sleeps up to 3 ($945)

The Location: David Thompson Country/Corridor 

Located between Jasper and Banff, Highway 11, heads west of the Columbia Icefields to the tiny town of Nordegg. The corridor begins in the midst of the massive peaks of the Rockies and mellows out to rolling hills as you travel west. David Thompson Country has the best of both worlds, offering a variety of hikes for a variety of levels. 

Food

$150/person 

We provide the following:

• Fully cooked meal Friday night as a welcome dinner
• Pre-planned and prepped meals to bring into the communal cook shack and cook over the BBQ. Both Saturday and Sunday night we will provide a protein and side dish to be cooked as a group in the evenings. 
• Breakfast supplies in the cupboards and fridge. Croissants, toast, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, granola, eggs, yogurt and milk will be stocked in your fridge upon arrival. It will be up to you to grab what you want before your day starts. 
• Sample Menu
  • marinated chicken thighs, baked potato and salad
  • Italian Sausage and pasta salad
  • steak and vegetable kebabs with a salad

Hiking guided by Dee and Jojo

Day 1 $75/person

Day 1 hike will be a moderate hike. Choices are Crescent Falls and Big Horn Falls (8Km) or Siffleur Falls and the Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve (14km)

Day 2 $75/person 

Day 2 hike will be a challenging hike up a mountain to get those views! Kinglet Lake is our first choice. 12km with a 750m climb up to a stunning lake. 

*we reserve the right to change the location of the hikes based on weather. 

Paddling 

Stand Up Paddle Board Rentals $50/day – available Saturday or Sunday. Self guided

Kayak or canoe rentals $99/for a half day – available Saturday or Sunday at Fish Lake. Self guided

Kayak or Canoe rentals $129/ full day – available Saturday or Sunday at Fish Lake. Self guided 

Climbing

Via Ferratta (must have a pod of 4 to book) $160/person – available Saturday. Guided by Girth Hitch Guiding

This event has a lot of moving parts! I am only booking through phone consults. We can build your package over the phone and I require 10% of the package price to secure a spot. Full payment is due 60 days prior to event. To book, text to 780-882-4475 and set up a booking time.

Cancellation Policy

10% of package price required for bookings. THIS IS NON REFUNDABLE

You may cancel 60 days prior to the tour date. You will not receive your deposit or Stripe Administration fees back. (Stripe administration fees are 3%)

If you cancel 59 days or lower prior to the event you have forfeited your payment unless I can resell the package. I will try to resell the package via email and social media channels. I will make one attempt. You may also try to sell your package on your own and have it transferred to another person. 

You may want to look into your own cancellation insurance for bigger tours.
