Paddle in the Untamed Wilderness of the David Thompson Corridor
Flatwater Skills + River Skills = River Tour
Are you wanting to “up your paddle board game?” Would you like to paddle rivers and feel confident in your skills? Join us for this 4 day progressive course with Sam Lebarge Comeau from Downriver Adventures. We will guide participants from flatwater to moving with the flow on Class I/II Rivers and put it all together with an overnight adventure surrounded by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
During our course, we will group camp at Crimson Lake Group Campsite.
Book HereThis course will grow participants’ flatwater SUP skills and progress to paddling comfortably in a river current, reading rivers and even tackle overnight trips. We will focus on skill building and the important safety fundamentals of river paddling. Participants will learn about eddies and how to use them to stop and slow down, river hazards and how to avoid them, and required gear, packing, preparation and logistics.
After completing this course, participants can expect to feel comfortable and confident taking personal (unguided) SUP trips on Class I/II Rivers. They will also have developed an understanding of the potential hazards, along with a variety of new skills and experience that can apply to the moving water environment and any outdoor adventure.
