January 6th – March 2nd 

Winter Events Begin

6 winter events to get you off the couch and exploring our own backyard! 

Saturday mornings 10am-12pm-ish! 

Note: Some events are longer than others, so choose the events that work for you. 

Snowshoe, winter hiking, ski trekking or XC skiing – weather and snow dependent

We have chosen multiple trails, private locations, frozen lakes or wide open spaces. Wednesday we take a look at the forecast, decide which  modality will work best and pick a location. Details emailed to all the participants Thursday evening. 

We have rated each event with a Level Of Difficulty

January 6th

Snowshoe or Winter Hike within 20 minutes of GP

Level 1/2

We have several ideas for locations, all which take 1.5 – 2 hours plus drive time on either side. 

 

Jan 20th

Snowshoe or Winter Hike within 20 minutes of GP

Cameron Lakes Lodge Weekend Winter Getaway North of Chetwynd

Level 1-4 depending on activities chosen

Join us at this beautiful location to x-country ski, snowshoe, hike with the Chetwynd Outdoors Society, and then settle into the lodge for a home cooked meal, music and karaoke! (Or dancing if we get crazy 😉

Sleepovers in the bunk style cabins.

We will have electricity at the lodge but NO RUNNING WATER – this means you must use the newly renovated, high class outhouses. 

 

March 2nd

Explore the Kawa

Level 4

Full day with 2 hours drive time each way

100% worth it! 

Car pooling available 

Snowshoe or ski trek into various areas in and around the Kakwa. We have a few secrets up our sleeve for this adventure. Shhhhh….

 

Powder King Ski & Snowboard Community Day 

March 8/9/10

Level 3 

Stay at the Azouetta Cabins & Suites, and spend a weekend skiing or snowboarding with the group. Self booking! This is a community event – We don’t make any money off this event, we just like to ride together in a group. If you need accommodations, you must book them yourself. We will post a meet time and location for Saturday morning and have lunch together at the restaurant. We ski or snowboard together as a big group or a couple of smaller groups. Open invite!
